Good day to you and yours! I recently had to explain to someone where I’ve been, what I’ve been doing. I’ll tell you this by way of explanation: When I am coding, I have no life. I get wrapped up into things and no one sees me for days, weeks, sometimes even months.
I recently decided to build my own private server for my two boys. They like to play Minecraft and I decided to offer them a bunch of things playing “Vanilla” Minecraft wouldn’t give them. To that end, I’ve been working near night and day on that and have neglected everything else.
Has it been fun? Yes. Every time I code, it’s fun. Right up to the point where I get frustrated because I’ve absorbed too much information and it’s time to step back for a bit. That’s about where I am, right now. When I’m done, I’ll post the address for anyone else who reads me and has children that play Minecraft. My server will be “child safe.”
I’ve done a few things here and there with the boys – besides play. And, I’ve collected some 2,000 in the process. I’ll show you a few so you know I haven’t killed them off. We’re all very much alive and well. Let’s start with June 27th. We went and played in a river for awhile. Just for fun…
Dad was helping Caiden try and catch a bottom-feeder in a river. It was surprisingly easy to catch – because it was dead.
That was a little disappointing but fun, at least. Dad was trying to help Caiden learn how to “sneak up” on a fish.
Dad trying to help them catch a live fish.
Finishing his lunch while sitting in some cool water.
I don’t think Dad understands – Caiden doesn’t care if you get him wet. The boy was born to be in the water!
Caiden is gorgeous. Look at those eyes!
And, of course, the child that’s always cold warms up with Dad for a bit before heading back into the river…
Am I wrong for wanting to boot Caiden in the butt to send him unsuspectingly flying into the water?
I should submit this picture to the Ball Facebook site. What better use for a Ball jar than catching bugs and river critters in the summer?
I’ll tell you a funny story and then I’m gonna sign off for today. Now that you know I’m alive and all that.
The picture above was taken on the way home on June 28th. Jen was following me in the Toyota and I was looking off to the left (East) and commenting on the pretty pinks in the sky at sunset. For some reason, I never thought to look to my right (West) and see the actual sunset. She asked if I wanted to stop and get some pictures of the sunset. I said, “Nah. I’m headed home to babies!”
As we drove along, two vehicles headed home, I happened to glance over to my right (for the first time). Within seconds, my blinker was on and I was pulling over. Jen got a huge laugh when I told her that I hadn’t realized the sunset was on the other side of me. If I had, my answer would have been more like, “The boys can wait 5 more minutes. I’m getting pictures!”
And pictures I did get…
So, I’m back – mostly – but if you miss me, just ask me how the coding is going. I’m probably neck-deep in code again.
