Thank You

Just sitting here, waiting to see the VA doctor and got to thinking. When’s the last time you remembered to give a heart-felt thank you? I’m not speaking of the quick thank you as you breeze through life. I’m talking about the out of the blue, unexpected, when all is quiet, shock of stopping and simply saying, “Thank you.”

Thank you for raising me to adulthood.

Thank you for sheltering me from the worst of life.

Thank you for being there when I needed someone.

Thank you for not giving up on me.

Thank you for stepping in when I could (or would) not.

Thank you for not turning your back.

Thank you for giving me more information.

Thank you for putting up with the good and the bad.

Thank you for picking up the pieces when I messed it all up.

Thank you for getting up when I couldn’t/wouldn’t.

Thank you for doing when I can’t.

Thank you for the second chance. And the third, fourth, fifth, sixth…

Thank you for answering when I call.

Thank you for listening.

Thank you for hearing.

Thank you for the patience.

Thank you for the laughs.

There are so many more things to thank someone for. All of the above apply to people in my life – some of those apply to two or more people. I’m sure they can read the thank yous and recognize themselves.

What say you – how do you thank someone besides just the random, “Thanks” as you fly through your days?

Thank YOU for listening,

~ Naia.
