Went to court today. Here’s what happened.
- My attorney quit. Financial reasons combined with my refusal to follow his instructions. He instructed me to adhere to the court ruling to attend mediation. I informed him I lacked the funding to attend (can’t attend if have no funds, that’s the rules). He said that I refused to follow his advice and that’s why he was quitting.
- Judge ordered me to attend mediation and offered a stern warning if I did not comply this time. I let her know I didn’t have the funds. She didn’t care. Quote, “It’ll save the courts’ time and your own funds if you just find the money to attend. Do it.”
- I have 20 days to get the money to hire a new attorney or file that I will represent myself. If I don’t, she (the Judge) will enter a default ruling awarding anything that ex #2 wants.
- The opposing attorney said he’d be glad to perform the mediation. It would be him (and he’s ex #2s attorney, mind you), ex #2 and me in a room, hashing things out. Can anyone else see what is so terribly wrong about that?!
So, there ya have it. Basically, she offered …….. as she …….. and didn’t hear a word I said. (bad words omitted)
