Survival of the Fittest

Well, I did it! I pulled it off. My first *ever* birthday party, at my home, with millions of little 6-year olds invited. Right now, I’m sitting in Shari’s, having a much-deserved Coors Light in an ice cold bottle. I even dressed up as Snow White, in fitting with the whole Superhero/Princess theme of the party.

Baking eggs (fake hard boiled) so we can play a game with them. A couple exploded in the oven. A job for tomorrow – cleaning it all up.

Brendan helping get the house cleaned up for our many guests.

Making blue Madeline’s for the party.

Cooking eggs and Madeline’s.

How about some red Madeline’s as well? Yeah. Let’s do it.

Yeah. They are that yummy.

Don’t forget the Hulk Juice. It’s actually lemonade with an entire little bottle of green food coloring. Amazingly, we had no accidents tonight. No green stains on carpet or anywhere else! I’m so proud of all the children at the party.

There’s the birthday boy – and my new hero, “Batman!”

Yes. I dressed up for my son’s party. If I have to tell you who I am, I failed.

My baby Captain America. Who wouldn’t love this super hero?

I really shouldn’t post other photos of the party. I’ll say it was a rousing success and hope y’all understand – I don’t have permission from the moms to post pictures of their children. If, over the next few days, I find some pictures that won’t get me in trouble, I will surely post them.

We ran around the kitchen/dining room/living room with an egg on a spoon – that was a blast! Only 2 kids dropped the egg and they were of the “older” set (the ones over 6).

We played Bingo with Super Hero cards that I made this morning. Only a few mistakes. Oh, well. I think that game did rather well and, when I fix the mistakes on the cards I made, I’ll post the file for y’all to download and print so you can use it for yourself.

We ran around the house, collecting lollipops stuck on walls – and the one with the most lollipops got a special prize.

I gave away the two different blankets we made for the best dressed boy and girl. That was awesome but I ended up feeling bad for the kids that were (or weren’t) dressed up and didn’t win. Although, right after the two grand prizes were given away, I had a thought and had “everyone else” grab a special prize/treat from the basket I’d been using for the games.

Musical Chairs was a blast! It was so much fun to watch!

Jen dressed up as a Roman goddess. It was so cute – she looked great in it. She had a crown but she took it off.

That’s about all for tonight. I’m ready to head to bed. Jen and I got the entire house cleaned up and came to Shari’s for some protein and a beer. Now, to go relax and start our “normal” routine tomorrow.

Thank you for listening,

Naia.

    • Hi, Pamela!

Thank you so much! How are you doing? I haven’t gotten to the Army Surplus Store for you, as yet. I’m sorry. I’ll try to remember that in the next day or two.

      Hi again!

      Naia.
