Something that’s been on my mind for quite some time is teaching my boys to pray before bed. I’ve taught them to pray over their meals (and we constantly do dinner, sometimes other meals) and now it is time to teach them something else.
In following what I learned in the book of Matthew, I decided they should learn a simple prayer. Something that will cover all the bases, as it were. I am not going to teach them long and elaborate prayers and I’m not going to try and get them to remember to say, “And bless Mom and Dad and Jen and ….” I want them to learn the basics and then, as they grow, add to it as they see fit. It’s their personal prayer – I’ve no right what to tell them to pray.
So, I’ll lean on Jesus and teach them what He taught us in the Bible.
I’ve printed it out and I’ll give each child one, teaching them the words as they say it each night. I’ve got to remember to do this every night – that’ll be the hard part for me.
If you want to print it yourself, feel free to do so. Right-click on the image and click “View Image.” When it has loaded, just right-click again and click to save the image. Print it as you desire.
P.S., I’ve started trying to play with signature lines. We’ll see how it goes.
