Last Day

A little after lunch, I’ll be headed home. I spent the weekend at Living Waters in Challis. A ladies retreat for a Nazarene Church in Idaho Falls. I don’t attend that church but my friend Elaine invited me and I’m glad she did. I’ve met many lovely ladies and am hoping to continue new friendships when I get home.

The message yesterday was awesome. We watched a Beth Moore simulcast. The biggest thing I took away from the message was: Don’t settle for “fine”; Go for “faith.” Don’t settle for what you think you deserve. Don’t give up and stop asking God. He may not give you what you ask, but He will do good things for you.

The food was “to die for” and I even bought their cookbook while here. I am anxious to see if any of the recipes can fit into my pea-sized budget. I have pictures of all the food and will be showing them in the next few days/week. Breakfast is in 10 minutes and I swear, I have gained 5-10 pounds this weekend. As a diabetic, I can gain or lose 5 pounds in a matter of days – depending on what I eat. When I get home, I’m going to have to go on a strict protein-only regimen to fix this.

I have tons of scenery pictures that I’ll be uploading over the next few days or week. Here’s a teaser:

Today, the smoke from fires is so thick, pictures aren’t really possible. I’ll take more and have fun doing it, though. I don’t fancy myself a photographer, but I love taking them. I have one small Kodak camera and do the best I can, even when it takes very slow pictures.

I’ve met some amazing women and learned a lot about them. There are several ladies that sent their children through the school my boys attend. It’s nice hearing what they have to say about the private school.

I talked a lot about quilting and even allowed one of my blankets to be part of a give-away. It’s gone and the new owner asked me if I would teach her how to quilt/create the blankets that she bought the kits for. I’m no expert, but I can get someone started. We’ll see.

That’s all I’ve time for, right now. Wanted to let y’all know I’m still alive. I’ll be back tonight – most likely. I’ll be taking the drive home very slow so I can take as many pictures as my card can hold – and not driving while doing it (as I did on the way down here). So, a three hour drive could probably end up taking 6 or 9 hours. I’ll be writing a lot more when I can sit and think and put it all together.

Thank you for listening,

Naia.
