The “official” start…

Today, when we got home, it was the beginning of transitioning to a 1950s woman. Since we were gone for the past two days, it didn’t get its proper start. I’ll tell ya, I’m exhausted and wishing to end it already!

We got home. I cleaned up the kitchen – putting away snacks and foods/drinks from the trip. And then, I got the bright idea to make deviled eggs, leaving me some extra to make egg salad for lunch tomorrow. I figure, we’ll be busy getting ready for our yard sale and having pre-made egg salad would make lunch easier.

However, between that and getting a salad ready for the dinner table, I was on my feet probably 3 hours. Not used to that! Then, of course, I had to do the clean up. Typically, if I cooked, I’d leave the mess for Nan or someone else to clean up. Not this time. Not anymore. It’s my job!

I hand washed all the dishes that I used in my dinner preparations. Not enough time to run the dish washer before dinner. Ex #1 cooked seasoned pork chops on the grill so I didn’t have to worry about that part of dinner! That was nice! So, then I set the table (baby #1 helped), served as much as I could to the babies and we ate. It was nice and pleasant.

Of course, then… I had to clean the table. Get food put away. Clean up the dishes and load the dishwasher. I did leave a little bit of a mess in the kitchen – I left for my “computer time” and will finish when I get home. I have to figure out what’s for breakfast…

I didn’t do a lot – but damn, I’m exhausted! It’ll take awhile to get used to this!

Nan kept wanting to help but still doesn’t understand – I have to do this myself. I can’t buckle!

So, I’m sitting and eating my “reward” of peach pie at Shari’s and pondering breakfast tomorrow… Any ideas?
